Gilbert and the Ghost by Heather Pierce Stigall (Author), Jess Mason (Illustrator)
This is a story about being invisible until someone sees you. It will resonate with many children and adults. Stigall has included all the usual ghostly nonbelievers and classmates who do not seem to see what is there all along.
The language and page turns are perfect for a library or class read-aloud. And even though I suspected the ending, it was sweet and lovely, and made me smile.
Order it with the Halloween books, but keep it out all year. it is a ghostly treasure!
